Aldarra is a fast-paced 4x combat focused strategy game with 152 huge minis, buckets of dice, and an expansive world.
The game plays 2 - 4 people (5-6 with the expansion) and plays between 90-180 minutes.
The base game comes with 152 finely detailed miniatures (28 unique sculpts). The Savage Skies expansion comes with 72 finely detailed miniatures (14 sculpts).

Hey everyone! Benny here with another quick update just to keep you all looped in. We will have the 6 player gameplay video for you next week (it was tons of fun) along with the shipping prices! We will start charging shipping starting from the end of this month.

Hey everyone!
Hope you had a great month. I've got a bit of a different update for you guys. A video! I sat down at our gaming table with the game laid out ready for our gameplay video recording tomorrow! We tried to record a game a week ago but ran out of time when a couple players had hard cut off times for ending the shoot and we had technical difficulties and had to start late! But no worries! The next game is in less than 12 hours and it's gonna be a blast. We can't wait to share it with you.
In the video I go into some manufacturing updates we've been doing, storage discussion, a bit of info on shipping, a first glimpse at the KS exclusive box sleeves and a few more things!
There will be a much larger update coming out in 1-2 weeks when the gameplay video is fully edited and we hopefully (fingers crossed) have all of the shipping prices sorted out!
The fixing of the PPC and the additional items we needed to get done have been slightly delayed. The manufacturer has been slower than we wanted getting back to the factory and getting our product moving again from their Chinese New Year break. Things are still on track, but a few things have been a little delayed. Below, I will put an updated "Schedule Moving Forward" that I posted last update!
2nd week of March (Originally end of February - 2 week delay): All components should be fixed and modified for the PPC
2nd week of March (Originally 1st week of March - 1 week delay): We should have all of the repaired and modified PPC elements that we need to check.
3rd-4th week of March (Originally 2nd week of March - 1-2 week delay): 6 Player Gameplay Video Released
End of March (Originally 2nd week of March - 2 week delay): We put in our final order for the number of copies we want and we charge shipping to the backers. (see below for more information on what shipping will entail). Mass Manufacturing starts here
End of May / 10-12 weeks after we start Mass Manufacturing (No delay as of yet - planned for): The product will be finished and loaded into containers.
1st week of June (No delay as of yet - planned for): The product will be shipped from the factory to our distribution points. This will take probably 3-5 weeks
1st - 3rd week of July (No delay as of yet - planned for): We ship to you once the product arrives in the distribution facilities.
Sorry for the slight delay everyone! Things are a little out of our control at this point so there's only so much we can do. We have had to postpone the 6 player game shoot twice already due to some unforseen delays from the factory, but we are revving and rearing to go!

Hello backers!
Hope you've all had a great weekend and are having a good month of February! Very excited to finally bring you all a massive update regarding the completion of this Kickstarter!
As you know from the last update, we had some delays with the Preproduction copy (PPC) at the end of last month and then the Chinese New Year hit the factory operation schedule (people leaving early without other parts of the factory knowing - all sorts of fun stuff).
With all that said, the PPC was delayed about a week from the factory and then delayed a week getting to us further since the postal services in asia also were slowed due to it! We received it last week and had our first game night with the PPC on Friday! This post will have a lot of those images in it plus a bunch of photos taken of the PPC itself.

What is a Preproduction Copy?
For those who may not know. When we do these physical products, before we put in our big order with the factory, they supply us with a PPC to check over all of the files, make sure the sizes and colors are right and all that fun stuff. These PPCs are made by hand in a lot of cases and not with the full might of the mass manufacturing of the factory behind it. This means the PPCs are usually about 95% of what the final product will look like!
Additionally, it means there will be things to correct. If you're familiar with our Airship Campaigns project, once we got the PPCs, there was actually a lot to fix before we could go to mass production. Luckily, this isn't really the case with Aldarra! While we do have some things to fix (which I will explain in more detail below), almost everything has come out exactly as we expected it and it's looking phenomenal!

What needs to be fixed on the PPC
So now we come to the meat of "What is left?" before we go to manufacturing! There's a large list of things to get done and fine tune, but all in all, it's actually quite small considering everything! Here, I will break down just in general all of the bits and pieces we intend to fix before we go into manufacturing!
Miniatures
The quality of the miniatures is excellent. We are very happy with how they came out. Having said that, there are a few things that need to be fixed for the miniatures
Colors: Some of the colors need to be adjusted slightly. Most of them came out perfectly (purple, green, blue and brown)
Minor Tweaks: The miniatures required a lot of small tweaks by the factory to make them "mold ready" (it's a very complicated process - doing this many miniatures is an incredibly undertaking). A lot of the miniatures either ended up tilted or modified in a way that they did not fit the Gametrayz mold well anymore. So the factory is aware of this and have been fixing the issue since before the Chinese New Year. They sent us the current version of the miniatures in the meantime so that we can check other things, but the minis will be even better than what you see in the pics when they are done!
Base Tray Modification
The base tray needs to be modified a little bit since we underestimated the space that some of the components would take up.
We increased the size of the coins and therefore need to readjust the space they take up in the tray
The map tiles don't fit all the core + expansion tiles perfectly yet, but we will make sure they do!
There are a few other minor tweaks not quite worth mentioning, but they will be fixed before we mass produce!
Rulebook
We need to make some minor changes to the rulebook. Nothing that will delay us though!
Kickstarter Upgrade Kit
This is actually the item that needs the most work. As you know, the upgrade kit has unique crystal miniatures in it to replace the basic ones in the core box. The problem we are facing with this is that the factory is having a hard time matching the material we make the upgraded minis out of match the generic crystals used in the core game. It's very difficult to explain, but they are search for a solution for this and we should have one when the factory is back from the Chinese New Year break.
Everything else from the upgrade kit is done and looks awesome =)
Cards Resize
We have to make a slight tweak on the size of the Exploration Cards and Secondary Cards. They're currently a little too big to fit nicely inside of a "perfect" sleeve size so we want to shrink them down a tiny bit for that reason!
6 Player Gameplay Video Plan
Originally we had planned for a 6 player gameplay video to be out by the end of February, but due to the delays from the factory and some missing components the factory forgot about in the PPC, it means we have to postpone it until we have all of the right components. It's expensive to shoot and edit these gameplay videos and we can only really afford to do it a couple more times so we want to make sure the game looks its absolute best before we do!
I am very very excited to do our gameplay videos though and to especially show you all what a 6 player game looks like! It's pretty chaotic and fun! A great time.

Schedule Moving Forward
The most important part of the update if you're wondering when we will fulfill and what the timeline is looking like!
End of February: All components should be fixed and modified for the PPC
1st week of March: We should have all of the repaired and modified PPC elements that we need to check.

It's a long and complicated logistical process, but we have experience with it doing Airship Campaigns! We have partners to work with and we are well equipped to make this a streamlined a process as we can!
Shipping Information / Payment From Backers
We are currently looking up prices for shipping. This whole business in the middle east is causing a major problem with current shipping prices and the best we can hope for is an easy of those woes around end of May.
We will be shipping to multiple points of distribution around the world so if you live in Australia, Asia or Europe, you should have similar prices to Canada and the US. We are doing our absolute best to make sure the shipping is as reasonable as possible. The game is very large so it won't be the cheapest shipping cost in the world, but as I said, we are going to do our utmost best for you guys to make sure it's as cheap as it can be.
We will charge for shipping once manufacturing starts. This will be mid March most likely!

To finish off this massive update, I just want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for your patience and belief in this project. We have been developing it for over 3 years by this point and it has been a very long, exhaustive, expensive project that has taught me personally, and our company, a great many lessons that we plan to keep applying to new products and projects we bring to life.
It has been immensely rewarding to finally see this massive vision come to life in the PPC and soon to be the final manufactured products. I cannot wait to see you all get your copies of the game and share your pics and experiences with us. I know you will love the game. We have a blast every time we play and if the game sells well in retail, you can expect at least 1 more expansion with 2 new factions down the road some time =)

Hey everyone! Happy New Year!
Very very quick update today. We are working on final things to get the Pre Production Copy done with the manufacturer. They currently have all of the files and are working through producing the samples.
Working around Chinese New Year for the factory has been a little problematic with scheduling and different departments in the factory have taken time off early (unbenownst to other departments!). Originally they gave us a sample prep time of 2 months later than we originally negotiated (March) so the fact they are getting them done now at the end of Jan has been a huge push for them and we are all grateful here at Arcane Minis!
We are looking at about a week of having the sample delayed which means we are going to see progress in about 2 weeks (sample finished in a week and a week to ship it to us)! They are currently manufacturing the colored miniature samples with the finished tooling molds and we are waiting for the printed samples (boxes, punchboard, cards, etc) to be finished! All of the files are with the factory with the exception of a few we are still fine tuning!
Sorry for the slightly longer delay, the factory has been immensely helpful and been trying very hard to perfect everything. A game with over 200 miniatures (expansion included!) and a mountain of cardboard is definitely not a quick process!!

Side note: The metal coins came out originally too small and we have taken the cost on ourselves to increase their size to be much more fun to handle! It just made sense =). Hoping you all love them!
